Scholarship

PilotSafety.org as one of the leaders in providing aviation safety classes and training is proud to announce our new pilot training scholarship program.  The purpose of this program is to help pilots who are active in the FAASafety WINGS program achieve their next certificate or rating.
PilotSafety will choose 4 pilots per year to receive $800 in money and programs to help them along in their goal.  Each winner will receive $300 in PilotSafety training programs and a check for $500 to use towards their training.
ANY LEVEL PILOT WORKING ON A NEW CERTIFICATE OR RATING IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY

Applicant requirements:
  1. You must have a free account with PilotSafety.org (Click Here to Sign Up)
  2. You must hold a current US Pilot Certificate(STUDENT COUNTS!)
  3. You must have an account and be active in the FAASafety Team WINGS program.  (To sign up and start your account visit www.FAASafety.gov)
  4. You must be currently training on a new certificate or rating.  (Example Student going for Private or CFI adding CFII)

Scoring and choosing the winners - WINNERS are CHOSEN on four factors with the most important being:

  1. Your activity in the FAASafety WINGS program.
  2. Your contributions back to general aviation.  Do you volunteer for Young Eagles, PilotsnPaws, Angel Fight, etc
  3. Recommendation letters from your CFI and or local FAAST team rep.
  4. Your 500+/- word essay explaining:
  • How the WINGS program has benefited yourself and suggestions/ideas on how to get more pilots involved in the program.(1000 words max)
  • How you currently or plan to promote safety classes to others
  • Why you should be chosen to receive this award and how it will help you obtain your next goal.

The 1st winner Morgan Thorpe in CA, was a student pilot who volunteers for SoCalPilots and the 99's using her position to promote others in taking FAA Safety Wings classesShe had also taken several WINGS classes and had 2 great recommendation letters.
